New Patients

At Berkhamsted Dental Practice we are always pleased to see new patients.

Our comprehensive team of specialist dentists, hygienists, therapists, dental nurses, oral health educators and receptionists are here to help you, whatever your age. We offer dental care for both children and adults.

All new patients are offered a 30 minute initial consultation. We will take time to find out about your wants, needs and expectations for your mouth and smile. We will examine your teeth, gums, jaws and surrounding structures, take x rays where necessary and discuss what dental care you might need and what different options there are. We will provide a written estimate of costs whenever we suggest a treatment.

Please contact our reception team by phone or email if you would like to arrange an appointment. We offer early morning, lunch time and evening appointments as well as appointments on Saturday mornings.

We will ask new patients to complete a confidential medical questionnaire before your appointment. This can highlight health issues that can affect your oral health and dental care. We want to make sure we look after the whole of our patients, not just their teeth! You will receive an email 2 days before your appointment with a link to our online patient portal. Just click on the word online to access the portal and complete the questionnaire before your appointment. Alternatively you can access your details through our portal here.

For children under the age of 16 we request that they are accompanied by a parent or guardian for their initial consultation. We would strongly encourage a parent or guardian to attend with their child at each of their subsequent dental examinations. In certain circumstances a signed letter of authority from a parent or guardian can suffice.

For elderly patients who might have difficulty in giving their consent we would encourage a partner or other family member to attend their initial consultation visit to act as the patient’s representative.

For children or elderly/infirm patients we would ask that any accompanying persons complete our online Covid-19 assessment form here on the day before they visit the practice.

There is a multi-storey pay & display car-park behind the practice. Blue badge parking is available outside the car-park at street level. Waitrose customers have the use of their car-park as well, subject to their terms and conditions.
